Reflections-September 14-20

At last, the day came for our presentation. September 14 was the day where we presented our "Bakya Dance". We thought it was a contest so we tried our best but we were disappointed when we found out that it was only for presentation. Because we were sure that if that was a contest, we could have win(hehe, of course).

The next day was our presentation for our ground demo. We made it but we committed some mistakes. It's okay since all of us 3rd years participated. September 16 was a holiday. No classes.

September 17-20 was the intramural of the collegians. Many sports were done but not all finished since every afternoon, it rained. There was also cheering but we did not saw it since we had classes.

September 20, the Division Math Quiz Bee and Damath was held. We were all nervous for the contest. But even if the results were not as we wanted, we still accepted it. None of us,from MPGCHS, won first place. Sagada got most of the first place(eish.hehe). Only our Investigatory Project won. The regional will be held here on December. Our coaches said that we should be ashamed if we will lose because it is in here where the regional will be held. After the contest, we just said that it's okay since we will not cheer for the representative of Mountain Province especially the student from Sagada who won the 3rd year level(hehe, talaga py ma'am) because he's so proud,as in.

At the end of the week, we were so so tired.=)

Reflections-September 7-13

Okay class, our next topic for today is....(hehehe)

This time, my topic is the happenings last September 7-13,2008. As of that week, we have been busy practicing our ground demo and "Bakya Dance" for our presentation last Am-among 2008. As a result of the everyday practice, we're tired that we cannot concentrate in our lessons. All we want to do was to sleep during the class hours(true ma'am, hehe). But we also wanted those practices since we were excused from some subjects(hehehe).

In our practices, we were always complaining(hehe) since we were always exposed to the sun and yet the mapeh(han ku incapital ty bka mabasa da ya..hehe) teachers are busy talking and talking, scolding us for many reasons(ma'am, secret lang.hehe). Since we are good students(ehemm..), we did not stop practicing until we perfected it.

Reflection

This is the next topic I will talk about since the my last blog was some weeks ago. Today's topic is about my reflection last week and this week. The whole week last week, we had our discussion about the selection "Everyday Use". Before we read the selection, we first discussed about sister rivalry. Some of our classmates shared their perception on what are the reasons why there are sister rivalry. One said it is because of food, another said it is because of space, attention and others.

At first, we didn't understood the story until our teacher showed us the next day some pictures on quilts, and explained why these are important to the Black Americans. These are important because these were used by the Black Americans for survival. They used these as maps, and they expressed their feelings by making quilts.

The next day, we have discussed the story paragraph by paragraph. After the discussion, I realized the importance of culture, heritage and traditions.

We also discussed about how to listen properly. We have learned the method TQLR. Our teacher read to us some selections wherein we applied the TQLR. By the way, T means Tune In, Q means Question, L means Listen, and R means Respond.

As of this week, we continue with our discussion. Some of us blog while the others are in the classroom answering questions about the story.

This week, it is always raining, so the program scheduled Monday is always postponed. It was supposed to be now but since it rained, it was again postponed.

My Goals in Life

For me, my goal is just simple, it is to help people by curing them. I can reach my goal by becoming a doctor someday.

But before I made decision about that, I thought very well what I wanted to be. At first, I wanted to become a teacher, next was to become a lawyer, and the third decision was to become a businesswoman until I decided to get medicine as my course. I wanted become a teacher because i want to teach children but I realized that I can teach them in my own ways and not by being a teacher; a lawyer because I observed that the innocent are being accused and the rich are taking advantage of the poor so I wanted to defend them, but I realized that being a lawyer is not really what I wanted to be; a businesswoman because I wanted to have my own business so that I can help my parents but again, I realized it was not really my dream; and lastly a doctor because I can cure the sick especially that most of the people around me is sickly.

My Expectations This School Year

I have many expectations this school year, first is that I expect in Engish subject that I will improve my vocabulary especially about the meanings of the words I don't know and also correct grammar. I'm also expecting that I will be trained in speaking in front of people especially that I have the so called "stage-fright". And lastly, I also expect a passing grade.

In other subjects, I also expect that I will learn something from that subject and also a passing grade.

My Impressions on the First Day of School

Well, before the classes started, I didn't feel actually any excitement. My first day in school was just like an ordinary day for me. I'm bored actually during these days and I wish it is already vacation. It is because my vacation time is not enough.

Before the classes started, I thought already of the projects and homeworks to do, my "kind of" naughty classmates =), and also who will be our adviser.

For my observations, I observed that my classmates didn't change actually at all. Only physical features, I think, like hairstyle, height, weight and even their cellphones are changed. They are all brand new! =)

About my teachers this school year, I can say that they are kind and good. Some of them teach well but for the others, maybe they are good but honestly, I and my classmates find it hard to understand what they are teaching to us.

Well,that's all for this topic.
